At Fountain Church, our vision is encapsulated by the three transformative P's: A People, A Place, A Pool. We envision building a thriving community of believers who are not only connected by faith but also equipped for the challenges of the last days. As a People, we are committed to fostering genuine relationships, providing a supportive environment where individuals can plug into their purpose, and collectively shine as lights to the nations.
Our community and facilities serve as a Place (a refuge) where weary souls can find solace, renewal, and hope. It is a sacred space where individuals can experience God’s healing touch, compassion, love and hope; and where the broken-hearted discover a path towards restoration.
Central to our vision is the concept of a deep Pool - a source of clean water at the heart of Fountain Church. This pool represents a constant flow of healing, restoration, empowerment, and enrichment. As a Pool, we strive to be a dynamic fountain, continually pouring out love, grace, and strength to our community and beyond. We are dedicated to being a source of inspiration, a wellspring of empowerment, and a catalyst for positive change.
In unity, we aspire to be more than a church; we aim to be a beacon of light, a sanctuary of refuge, a perpetual fountain of hope. Together, as a People in a Place, we are committed to being a Pool - a source of transformation, touching lives, and making a lasting impact on individuals, families, our communities and the world.
our STORY
Fountain Church began with a vision birthed in the hearts of our founding pastors, Celestin and Rose Mutabaruka, in October 2008. What started as a small gathering in their home in Kennington has grown into a vibrant and multi-generational church community passionate about worship, the Word, and transformation.
Those early meetings, filled with prayer and faith, marked the humble beginnings of a remarkable journey. As the church grew, God opened doors to new spaces—first at Goat Lees Community Centre, then Towers School, and later the W.I Hall in Willesborough. Each move was a step forward in God’s unfolding plan. In 2012, we found a more permanent home at Montpelier Business Park, where we witnessed years of growth, healing, and community life. A decade later, in December 2022, we transitioned to our current venue—a space that reflects our expanding vision and heart to serve even more people with excellence.
From the start, Fountain Church has existed to see lives transformed by the presence and power of God. Our focus on building strong biblical foundations, authentic relationships, and a life of worship has shaped a community marked by joy, healing, and restoration.
In 2020, Pastor Peter Mutabaruka stepped into the role of lead pastor, continuing the legacy with fresh vision and unwavering commitment. Having served in various ministry capacities both within and beyond Fountain Church, Pastor Peter brings spiritual depth, pastoral care, and a heart to see people released into their calling. Under his leadership, alongside our dedicated pastors, elders, and ministry leaders, Fountain Church has continued to thrive—multiplying in influence and deepening in mission across our different expressions.
Over the years, countless individuals and families have found hope, healing, and purpose here. Through pastoral care, meaningful community, and Spirit-led ministry, lives have been renewed and stories rewritten. One of the unique strengths of Fountain Church is our dedication to empowering the next generation. We believe young people are not just the future—they are the now. From worship and media to outreach and teaching, our young people are equipped, encouraged, and given real opportunities to lead and serve.
We celebrate the diversity of backgrounds, stories, and gifts that God has brought together in our church family. Through intentional discipleship and leadership development, we create space for every member—young or old—to discover and walk in their God-given calling.
Today, Fountain Church stands as a growing, multi-site family with a heart to reach, disciple, and impact our community and beyond. Our story is still being written—and we invite you to be part of it.
Lead Pastor
Peter Mutabaruka
I’m Peter — and together with my wife Vivian and our two sons, Levi and Micah, it’s our passion and calling to serve God’s people at Fountain Church in Ashford and beyond. Leading this vibrant, Christ-centred community alongside our dedicated team of pastors, elders, and leaders is a deep honour and joy.
I’ve been in ministry for over 20 years, and through every season, my heart has remained the same: to see people encounter Jesus, grow in faith, and step boldly into their God-given purpose. Ministry for me is not just a role — it’s a life of service, discipleship, and walking with people through the highs and lows of life.
Fountain Church is a place where diversity is celebrated, authentic relationships are built, and spiritual growth is a shared journey. We are united by a compelling vision to love God, love people, and transform our communities through the gospel.
Outside of ministry, I have a huge love for music — I play several instruments and am currently learning the saxophone (watch this space!). I’m also a big fan of sports, time in nature, and recently passed my motorbike licence — aiming to enjoy some peaceful rides for leisure and reflection.
